When does an answer come with a chart?

Updated 23 October 2026

The Short Answer

A chart appears under an answer when a lookup in that answer returned enough figures of the right shape and your question asks for them: how prices moved, every sale at a block, the top agents in a town. Most answers get none, and never more than two. Ask for a chart by name to get the one the figures fit.

The chart is drawn from the lookup's own figures, never from the words of the reply, so it shows exactly what the answer found.

When does a chart appear?

Three things have to be true:

  1. A lookup in this answer returned the figures: a market trend, a block's or a project's sales, a leaderboard, a valuation.
  2. There are enough of them. A trend needs at least 3 points; columns 2 to 8 groups; a ranking 3 to 10 rows; every sale at least 5 sales over 3 different months; floor by floor at least 3 bands of floors.
  3. Your question asks what the chart shows: how something moved, what a place sold for, which floor, who ranks highest.

At most 2 charts sit under one answer. When more qualify, they are taken in a fixed order: where a price sits, every sale, floor by floor, a ranking, side by side, part of a whole, a trend, above or below recent sales, then two or three trends. Pairs that answer one question stay together, such as floor by floor beside where a price sits.

Why did my answer get no chart?

Most answers have no chart, and that is the usual case. There is none when:

  • the answer is one figure, such as a single valuation or a median. It stays the figure on the card;
  • you searched for homes on the market: the listing cards are the answer, unless you asked which listing is good value or has the highest yield;
  • you named a year the figures do not reach, such as OCR transactions in 1995;
  • there are too few points, or more than 3 series of one measure;
  • the question is about something else, such as an agent's licence date.

To get one, ask for it by name (below).

What kinds of chart are there?

KindFor a question like
A trend: one line over timeHow has the private residential price index moved over the past two years?
Two or three trends, named linesLanded vs non-landed over two years · CCR, RCR and OCR
Side by side: columnsprofit by years held · prices by bedroom · two projects or towns
A ranking: bars, top firstWho are the top agents in Tampines? · the best yield. The one you asked about is blue, the rest grey
Above or below recent salesAny undervalued condos?: blue below, orange above
Every sale: one dot per sale, by dateWhat have flats at this block sold for? A price you name shows as a line labelled Asking
Floor by floor: columnsa block with a floor or unit named. A floor with under 3 sales is grey
Where a price sitsIs $880k fair?: the fair range, the estimate, the sales it used, your price
Part of a whole: 100% barsan agent's deals by HDB, condo and landed, and sales against rentals

Can I ask for a chart?

Yes. Put chart, graph, plot, bar chart or trend line in the question, for example plot the recent sales at this condo or show me a bar chart of prices by bedroom. You get the chart the figures fit, even where an answer would usually have none.

  • A pie chart is drawn as a 100% bar.
  • Plot the sales gets every sale, one dot each.
  • If no lookup holds the figures you asked about, the answer gives what it has, with no chart.

A single figure is never a chart, even when you ask for one.

What can I do with a chart on the web?

  • Hover over a chart, or tap it on a phone: a line shows that period's values; a bar shows its full name, value and count; a dot shows that sale's date, value, size and floor.
  • Save image, the picture button at the chart's top right, saves it as a picture: PropKaki's logo, the title, the chart, its source and Made with PropKaki · www.propkaki.com, on white even in dark mode. The file is named PropKaki – and the chart's title.

Under every chart, the source line names who publishes the figures, such as Source: URA.

Do charts come on WhatsApp, and can they carry my brand?

On WhatsApp, the chart is drawn inside the answer's card picture, in place of its table of figures. It has no hover. On your own number, while your assistant answers your clients, card pictures and their charts are not sent.

Charts always wear PropKaki's look: its blue, then orange and aqua when there are two or three lines, and PropKaki's logo on a saved picture. Your logo and colour from Account Settings → Branding go on the files and decks you hand to clients, not on charts. See Put your own branding on what PropKaki makes.
