What the Expenses Tabulator does

The Agent Expenses Tabulator matches a year of receipts to a property agent's credit card statement, so the working record IRAS expects exists without a shoebox of paper. Upload the bank's own statement — a PDF, or the CSV export from your banking app — and your receipt photographs in any order, whenever you have them. It reads both, checks every statement against the total printed on it before a single row enters your book, and pairs each receipt to its charge on the amount, the date and the card's last four digits, showing what each match agreed on. When more than one charge fits it asks you rather than picking one, and it lists the charges that have no receipt at all. It never decides what is claimable: you do, and the record shows that you made the call.

Photograph a receipt where you are standing and it is read, matched and filed — in the book before you are back in the car, instead of in a drawer until March.

A receipt with no charge still counts

Cash has no statement line and never will. A receipt whose statement you have not added yet simply waits, and matches itself the moment it arrives. Each one is held with its reason.

The charges with no receipt

The list nobody else gives you: what you are currently failing to claim, biggest first. That is usually worth more to you than any improvement to matching.

Frequently Asked

Questions About the Expenses Tabulator

How does it match a receipt to the right charge?

By the things printed on both: the amount to the cent, the transaction date, and the card's last four digits. Where a receipt carries an approval code and the statement does too, that is used as well. Every match shows what it agreed on — and when more than one charge fits, it asks you rather than picking one.

What happens when it isn't sure?

It says so. A receipt that could fit two charges is shown with both, and you choose. A receipt whose statement hasn't been added yet simply waits — it matches itself the moment that statement arrives. A photo that can't be read is marked as such and costs nothing.

Does it decide what I can claim?

No, and it never will. PropKaki assembles and evidences; you decide. Every row starts undecided until you say Yes or No, and the record shows that you made the call — which is exactly what an IRAS query needs to see.

Which banks does it read?

OCBC credit card statements are read directly from the bank's own PDF. For any other bank, the CSV export from your banking app works today — and it is more reliable than a PDF, because there is no layout to get wrong. A statement it can't read is refused rather than half-imported.

What if the statement doesn't add up?

It refuses the file. Every statement is checked against the total printed on it before a single row enters your book, because a line that is quietly dropped is a claim you quietly lose. If it doesn't reconcile to the cent, nothing is imported and nothing is charged.

Can I send receipts as I go, instead of all at once?

That is the point. Receipts, statements and your decisions arrive on three different clocks and none of them waits for the others. Photograph a receipt in March and it sits in the book until April's statement claims it. The pile shrinking is the job — it doesn't have to be empty.

What does it cost?

One credit for each photo or page it actually reads — receipts and statements alike, charged only after it succeeds. A page it can't read costs nothing, and matching, categorising and exporting are always free.
