Reply to a specific message

The Short Answer
Right-click a message in your Inbox, or long-press it, and press Reply. The quote sits above the typing box, and your reply goes out on the channel they said it on — quoted on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram, and as a Re: email with their words underneath. Changing the channel drops the quote.
A quote always travels on the channel the message came in on, because that is the only place the client can see it.
How do I reply to one message?
- In your Inbox, open the conversation.
- Right-click the message you are answering, or long-press it on a phone.
- Press Reply. The channel beside Send moves to the channel that message came in on, and the quote sits above the typing box: who said it, and its first line. The ✕ on the quote takes it away.
- Type your answer and send it as usual.
In the thread, your message shows the quote inside its bubble. Tap the quote to jump to the message it answers.
What does the client see?
| Channel | What arrives |
|---|---|
| Your reply, quoting their message, on their phone | |
| Messenger and Instagram | Your reply, quoting their message, in the app |
| The subject Re: their subject if you left it blank, your words, then On 12 Sep, Mrs Lim wrote: with their message quoted underneath | |
| Your chat link | The quote, for someone signed in to PropKaki, in their own Inbox |
From Gmail, Zoho Mail or another email provider, the email also lands in the same thread in their mail app. From Outlook it goes with the Re: subject and their words quoted, but may not join the same thread in their mail app.
Why did my quote disappear?
Because you changed the channel beside Send. A WhatsApp message cannot be quoted inside an email, so the quote goes and one line says so, naming the channel it could go out on: Quote removed: it can only go out on WhatsApp.
Press Reply on the message again to bring it back; the channel moves back with it. Sending the message, or opening another conversation, also clears the quote.
Why is Reply greyed out or missing?
Greyed, with the reason:
- An uploaded chat: This chat was uploaded, so it can't be replied to.
- A logged call: You can't reply to a logged call.
- A WhatsApp message when they haven't written in 24 hours: the same line the reply box shows.
Not in the menu at all: your own WhatsApp messages from before 29 September 2026, any email from before that day, a message still sending, a conversation on your chat link with someone who isn't signed in to PropKaki, and a chat with a fellow agent. You can still reply to the conversation in the usual way.
What happens when they reply to one of mine?
The same strip shows inside their bubble: who they quoted and its first line. Tap it to jump to the message they were answering. This works whenever WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram or their email tells PropKaki which message they replied to.
Does a quoted reply cost more?
No. A quoted reply is priced like any other reply: 1 credit a message on WhatsApp, email, Messenger and Instagram, and nothing on your chat link. The 24-hour rules are the same too: after 24 hours with no message from them, Messenger and Instagram take no reply at all, quoted or not.
