Check that a lead form reaches you

Updated 22 October 2026

The Short Answer

Create a test lead in Meta's Lead Ads Testing Tool on your connected Page, then look at the top of your Inbox for Filled in your Meta lead form. If it is not there, check the Page is listed on the Meta Lead Ads card in Extensions then Connectors. A lead Meta failed to deliver is picked up by PropKaki's hourly check.

The test starts outside PropKaki, in Meta's own tool, because only Meta can fill in your form the way a client would.

How do I check that my lead form reaches me?

Connect your Page first (see Connect Meta Lead Ads). A lead sent before that is never fetched.

  1. In PropKaki, open Extensions → Connectors and press the Meta Lead Ads card. Check the Page that runs your ads is listed, with no Reconnect or Not receiving beside it.
  2. Open Meta's Lead Ads Testing Tool at developers.facebook.com/tools/lead-ads-testing. It is Meta's page, not PropKaki's.
  3. Pick that same Page and the form you want to test, and press Create Lead.
  4. Back in PropKaki, open your Inbox. The test person is at the top with an unread dot and the line Filled in your Meta lead form.
  5. Open the chat. It starts on a card of the form, with each question and the answer given.

If the row is there, your form reaches you. The same person is also in Prospecting, and a New Lead alert says [name] filled in your lead form if you have one switched on.

Why did a lead not appear straight away?

Meta tells PropKaki about each new lead as it is submitted, and PropKaki fetches it straight away. That is the usual case.

Sometimes Meta's message never arrives. So once an hour PropKaki also asks Meta for every lead on every form of your connected Page, and files any it does not have yet. A lead that did not appear instantly normally turns up within the hour. It is filed under the time they submitted it, not the time it arrived.

That hourly check only reaches back to when you connected the Page. A form filled in before that is not fetched.

Why did a lead not reach me at all?

Go down this list in order:

  • The Page is not on the Meta Lead Ads card. Only that card's Pages send leads; a Page connected only for Facebook Messenger or Instagram Messages does not. Connect it under Meta Lead Ads.
  • The Page shows Reconnect or Not receiving. Facebook stopped PropKaki reading that Page, or Meta is not sending its leads. Press Disconnect Meta Lead Ads, then connect the Page again. The people already in your list stay.
  • The lead came in before you connected. Those are never fetched.
  • The form had no name, phone or email in it. PropKaki fetches it but has nobody to file it under.
  • You already chat with that person. The form card joins their existing chat instead of making a new row, and that chat comes back to the top with a dot.
  • The leads came from an Ads Manager spreadsheet you uploaded. Those go to Prospecting only, never your Inbox.

What does Meta's Lead Ads Testing Tool do?

It is Meta's tool, so here is only what Meta's own page about it says:

  • You pick a Page where you have advertiser access, then a Form, and press Create Lead.
  • The test lead holds dummy data. Preview Form lets you enter your own answers first.
  • Only one test lead can be made per form. To test that form again, press Delete Lead, then create a new one.
  • After you create it, Track Status shows whether Meta has sent it out: pending at first, which Meta says can take a few seconds, then success or failed.

For anything else about the tool, Meta's page Testing and Troubleshooting in its lead ads guide is the place to read.

How do I get told the moment a lead arrives?

Open Extensions → Alerts and use a New Lead alert with My Lead Ads ticked under From. Every lead from your forms then raises it, titled [name] filled in your lead form, and pressing it opens their profile.

Someone who fills in your form a second time raises it again, because it is a new submission. See How do I set up an alert? for switching one on and choosing where it reaches you.

Still Stuck?

Ask PropKaki in the chat — it answers most of these directly — or message the team.
