Why does my connector say not connected?

Updated 7 September 2026

The Short Answer

A connector card is off, working or failed. Failed almost always means the grant was revoked or expired — reconnect from the card; nothing else recovers it. A listing portal card has a fourth word, Listening, which means it is set up and waiting for a first lead.

The card tells you which of three states it is in. Only one needs anything from you.

What do the states mean?

  • Off — never connected, or you disconnected it. Nothing is wrong.
  • Working — connected and in use.
  • Reconnect / Disconnected — it was connected and the access has lapsed.
  • Listening — a PropertyGuru, EdgeProp or 99.co card only: set up, and no lead has arrived yet.

Only Reconnect asks anything of you.

Why does my portal card say Listening instead of Connected?

Listening means the card is set up and watching your WhatsApp line. It changes to Working the first time a real enquiry lands, and then names the date of the most recent one.

It does not say Connected because there is nothing to test. Every other card can be checked the moment you set it up — a mailbox sends itself a probe, Google and Microsoft either return access or refuse it. Nobody can make PropertyGuru, EdgeProp or 99.co send you a lead on demand, so the card waits for a real one rather than claiming something it has not seen.

Listening on a quiet week is the card doing its job. There is nothing to reconnect.

Why would a working connector fail?

Two causes, and both come from the provider rather than from PropKaki:

  1. You removed PropKaki's access inside your Google, Microsoft or Meta account.
  2. The grant expired. Providers time access out; it is normal and not a fault.

Either way PropKaki finds out when it next tries to use it.

How do I fix it?

Open Extensions → Connectors, open the card, and reconnect.

There is nothing to fix on your provider's side first — reconnecting issues fresh access. It is the same flow as the first time.

What happens to messages while it is failed?

Nothing is lost. Messages that would have gone through the connector are handed back to you instead, marked opens in your own app — written, ready, waiting for you to press send.

So a lapsed connector slows you down; it does not drop anything.

Still Stuck?

Ask PropKaki in the chat — it answers most of these directly — or message the team.
