How do I turn my bot off?

Updated 1 September 2026

The Short Answer

Turning your bot off is a Turn Off switch on the line it answers on, found in Chats and in Extensions then Connectors. It is not one of the three modes, so no amount of changing mode will stop it answering — the mode decides what it says, the switch decides whether it says anything.

This trips people up more than anything else about the bot, and the reason is worth one sentence.

Where is the off switch?

On the line, not in the mode list. You will find a Turn On / Turn Off pair in two places:

  1. In Chats.
  2. In Extensions → Connectors, on the connected number.

Switching it off stops your bot answering on that line.

Why is it not one of the modes?

Because they are two different questions, and one control cannot answer both.

The mode decides what your bot says — Advisor, Secretary, Auto-Reply. The switch decides whether it says anything.

A list reading "Auto-Reply · Secretary · Advisor · Off" looks tidier and is worse: picking a mode would then quietly mean turning it on.

I changed the mode and it still answered — why?

Because changing mode has never turned it off. Whatever you picked, you picked a way of answering.

Turn it off with the Turn Off switch on the line.

Can I silence it for one person only?

Yes. Silencing your bot for one client is a per-conversation setting and leaves the line running for everyone else. See Turn your bot off for one conversation.

Still Stuck?

Ask PropKaki in the chat — it answers most of these directly — or message the team.
