Get a template approved by Meta

The Short Answer
Submitting sends the wording to Meta to check, and approval usually comes within a day. You can use it before then: anyone who hasn't messaged you in 24 hours gets it from your number as soon as Meta approves it, and PropKaki tells you when it is.
Approval is Meta's step, not PropKaki's. Here is what to expect.
How long does approval take?
Usually within a day — that is what the screen tells you when a message waits on it.
It is worth submitting the two or three you know you will need before you need them, rather than at the moment a client goes quiet.
What can I do while I wait?
Use it anyway. A template still with Meta can be picked, and the screen says “[name]” is with Meta. Anyone who hasn’t messaged you in 24 hours gets it from your number as soon as it’s approved — we’ll tell you when it is.
While it waits, the message sits in their Inbox conversation marked Waiting for Meta’s approval, with Cancel beside it. When it goes, you get an alert: 1 message went out — Meta approved it, and it went from your number. With two WhatsApp numbers it names the number instead: …and it went from Work.
If Meta refuses it, the conversation says Meta didn’t approve this, with Meta's reason and Edit and Resubmit or Send It Myself.
What are the states it goes through?
- Draft — written, not submitted.
- Submitted — with Meta, being checked.
- Approved — goes straight out to anyone, whenever they last wrote.

A submitted template can already be picked when you send: people who wrote to you in the last 24 hours get your message now, and everyone else gets it once Meta approves.
Do I need approval for each of my numbers?
Yes, once you have two WhatsApp numbers: Meta approves templates for each number separately.
- Every template editor has Which numbers can send it? A new template ticks your main number only. With nothing ticked it says Tick at least one number to send it to Meta.
- Edit shows the numbers a template is on, each with its status — Approved, Waiting for Meta, Needs A Change or Paused. Tick another number to send it there too. Words Meta has already approved stay as they are: Meta has approved these words, so they stay as they are. Tick another number to send them there too.
- A template’s details list Approval, by number, and Use Template greys any template not approved on the number you are sending from: Not approved for Personal.
Is there any penalty for submitting a lot?
No. There is no penalty for submitting many, and none for having one rejected — you edit it and submit again.
