Get a template approved by Meta
Updated 1 September 2026
The Short Answer
Submitting sends the wording to Meta to check. Approval usually takes a few minutes and sometimes up to a day. Until it is approved that message opens in your own WhatsApp for you to tap send, so nothing is blocked while you wait.
Approval is Meta's step, not PropKaki's. Here is what to expect.
How long does approval take?
Usually a few minutes. Sometimes up to a day.
It is worth submitting the two or three you know you will need before you need them, rather than at the moment a client goes quiet.
What can I do while I wait?
Until it is approved, that message simply opens in your own WhatsApp for you to tap send.
So waiting for approval never stops you reaching someone. It stops PropKaki doing it for you.
What are the states it goes through?
- Draft — written, not submitted.
- Submitted — with Meta, being checked.
- Approved — usable, and it appears in the picker when you send.
- Rejected — Meta wants a change. See Why was my template rejected?
Only approved templates appear when you go to send one.
Is there any penalty for submitting a lot?
No. There is no penalty for submitting many, and none for having one rejected — you edit it and submit again.
What does carry a consequence is an approved template that clients block. See Can a template be paused or stopped?
