What happens when someone unsubscribes?
Updated 1 September 2026
The Short Answer
If a client sends a message containing the word unsubscribe, PropKaki marks them unsubscribed on that channel straight away. No reply is sent, it works whatever your bot is set to, and you cannot undo it from your side.
This one is deliberately simple, and deliberately out of your hands.
What triggers an unsubscribe?
A message containing the word unsubscribe. That is the entire rule — no interpretation, no judgement call.
It is deliberately narrow. Wider phrases like stop would catch "can you stop by the unit tomorrow", and marking a live client unsubscribed by accident is a much worse mistake than missing one.
Does my bot reply to it?
No reply is sent. It is a system behaviour, not something your bot does — so it works whatever mode your bot is in, including switched off entirely.
That matters: a client can opt out of an agent whose bot never answers, and it still takes effect.
Which channel does it stop?
The channel they said it on. Saying it on WhatsApp stops WhatsApp; saying it by email stops email.
It is not a blanket block across everything, because someone who does not want your marketing emails may still want your WhatsApp messages.
Can I undo it?
No. You cannot un-unsubscribe someone from your side, and that is deliberate — it is their decision about their own phone, and an agent who could reverse it would be an agent who could ignore it.
If they tell you they want to hear from you again, they can start the conversation themselves.
