What are my PDPA obligations when using PropKaki?
Updated 1 September 2026
The Short Answer
Under Singapore's PDPA, the consent, the accuracy and the retention of your clients' data are your responsibility as the agent. PropKaki holds those records for you and gives you the controls — DNC, unsubscribe, deletion — but the duty stays with you.
This is not legal advice, and it is the shape of what you are responsible for.
Whose obligations are they?
Yours. You collected your clients' details and you decide what happens to them; PropKaki holds them for you.
Using a tool does not transfer a duty. It never has, for any tool.
What does consent mean here?
You need a basis for contacting each person — consent, or an existing relationship that supports it.
A contact imported from a list you were given is exactly the case to be careful about, because you did not collect it.
How does unsubscribe work?
A message containing the word unsubscribe removes that person from anything automated, permanently.
It runs in every mode — including when your assistant is switched off — and no reply is written back to them. It just happens.
What about the DNC registry?
Singapore's DNC registry applies to marketing messages, and checking it remains yours.
PropKaki holds a do-not-contact list you can add to, but it does not check the national registry for you.
How long should I keep client data?
As long as you have a business or legal reason, and no longer — that is the PDPA standard.
You can delete a contact from your book at any point, and deleting your account removes everything.
Is this legal advice?
No. This is a plain description of where the responsibility sits.
Your agency will have a compliance position on all of this, and it is the one that governs your practice.
