How do I turn an automation off?

The Short Answer
Flip the automation's switch in Extensions → Automations, or press Turn It Off in its panel. It stops at once, with no check: nobody new starts it and nobody part-way through gets another step until you turn it back on. Its steps, schedule and settings are kept, and nothing is deleted.
Turning it off is one switch and can be undone with the same switch; deleting it cannot.
How do I stop one?
- Open Extensions → Automations. The On tab lists the ones running.
- Flip the switch on its row — or press Turn It Off at the foot of its panel, or choose Turn Off from its ⋯ menu.
It stops straight away; there is no check on the way off. It worked when the pill on its row reads Draft, it has moved to Off, and the running count at the foot of the list — 5 automations · 3 running — has dropped by one.
What happens to people part-way through?
They stop where they are. While it is off, nobody starts the sequence and nobody gets their next step — only automations that are on ever run, even one set to On Command.
Turn it back on and each person carries on from the step they reached, once that step's Then Wait has passed. Each person gets each step once per round, so nobody is sent a step they already had.
Does turning it off delete anything?
No. Only the switch changes. Its steps, its schedule, Who It Goes Through and It Checks With You stay exactly as they were, and anything it already prepared for you is left where it is.
To remove it for good, open its ⋯ menu and choose Delete. PropKaki asks first — Its schedule, who it goes to, and every step in it go with it. This can't be undone — you'd be building it again from scratch. — and Delete Automation confirms. Cancel keeps it.
Why did my automation turn itself off?
Saving any change to a running automation switches it off — Save Changes in its editor, or a new choice under Who It Goes Through or It Checks With You in its panel. The pill goes back to Draft straight away.
Flip the switch again and the turn-on check shows the automation as it now stands. Closing the editor without saving leaves it running: it asks Discard your changes?, and Discard Changes leaves it as it was before you opened it.
How do I stop it for just one person?
The audience decides who starts a sequence, never who continues. Removing someone from the group it names, or changing Who It Goes Through, stops new people starting — it does not take out anyone already part-way through.
What stops it for one person is their reply, while Stop sending once reply received is on. It is on for every new sequence and every one from Browse; you will find it on the last node of the editor, and the list row reads Keeps Going After A Reply when it is off.
To stop everyone at once, turn the whole automation off.
