How do I turn an automation off?

The Short Answer
Flip the row's switch in Extensions then Automations and it moves down to Not Running Yet. Nothing further is scheduled. Drafts it already wrote stay waiting for you rather than being deleted, and nothing that was already sent can be recalled.
One switch, and a clear answer about what happens to work already in flight.
How do I stop one?
Open Extensions → Automations, find the row, and flip its switch.
It moves down to Not Running Yet and its pill goes back to Draft. Nothing further is scheduled from that moment.
What happens to drafts it already wrote?
They stay exactly where they are, waiting for you to send or discard them.
Switching an automation off stops it making more; it does not throw away work it already did, and it does not send it either.
Can I recall something it already sent?
No. Once a message has left, it has left — the same as one you sent by hand.
This is the reason the turn-on check exists, and the reason Sends Itself is drawn in a caution colour.
Should I turn it off or delete it?
Turn it off. It keeps all 7 of its settings and costs nothing while it sits under Not Running Yet.
Delete it from the row's menu only when you are sure — deleting does not recall anything it has already sent.
How do I stop just one person getting it?
Narrow Who to a group that excludes them, or remove them from the group it points at.
If they asked you to stop entirely, the word unsubscribe in a message from them takes them out of every automation permanently, without you doing anything.
