Why did my automation not run?

Open Extensions → Automations and look at the pill on the right of the row. Draft means it is off; Live or Sends Itself means it is on. The Off tab lists every one that is not running.

It can be off without you having switched it off:

• Every automation arrives switched off, including one you add from Browse with Use This Sequence.
• Saving any change to a running automation switches it off again — a step, its Who, its approval, even its name — so you see the turn-on check for what it is now.
• Pressing Cancel on the turn-on check leaves it off.

Flip the row's switch, or press Turn It On in the panel beside the list, then Turn On or Turn On Anyway.

Click the row. In the panel, the line under The Sequence says when it starts people — Starts Every Day · 9:00am, for example. It does not run before that hour. The schedule decides when each person starts; after that, each step waits its own Then Wait days before the next one.

If the line reads Starts When You Send and a command such as /leases, it is an On Command automation and never runs on a clock. Message PropKaki on WhatsApp or Telegram and type that command, and it runs straight away for whoever it names.

If the line reads Starts When They Come In, its Who is New Leads: it starts each new lead as they come in, counting only leads who arrive after you switched it on.

To change either, press Edit and click the top box in the editor: When It Starts is there.

In the panel, look under Who It Goes Through. It shows how many people the automation names today — Nobody yet, 1 person, or a number — and it is the same count the run uses.

Nobody yet usually means one of these:

• It points at a group that is empty, or one you have since deleted.
• It is set to all your groups and you have none yet. The turn-on check says It’s set to All Groups and you haven’t made any columns yet.
• It is set to New Leads, which always reads Nobody yet: nobody is in it until a new lead comes in. Only leads who arrive after you switch it on count, and people you import or add yourself never do.

Pick again under Who It Goes Through — Everyone, New Leads, a group under Groups, or one person under Individuals. If the automation was on, the change switches it off, so turn it on again after.

Press Edit in the panel and click through the steps.

• A Write Myself step sends exactly what is in its The Message That Goes Out box. Left empty, it sends nothing to the people at that step; the rest of the sequence still runs.
• A Use Template step whose template has been deleted sends nothing until you choose another. Its tile reads Template · A deleted template, and the turn-on check names it: Step 2’s template was deleted, so nothing goes out for it until you choose another.

If every step is Write Myself and every box is empty, the check says Nothing is charged for this one — and nothing will be sent either, because there’s no message written in it yet.

An automation can be running and still pass one person by:

• They replied. A reply stops the sequence for them — unless the row's line reads Keeps Going After A Reply.
• Their last message from it is still waiting for you. It never queues someone's next step over one you have not sent or dismissed.
• They are between steps. The next step waits its Then Wait days after the one before.
• They have finished. Once Each on the row means each person goes through it once.
• A blank in the words has nothing on file for them. They wait in Follow-Ups for you, and the check counts them: Step 2 (…): 3 have no property on file …
• Nobody can reach them. The turn-on check counts people with no number and no email: … can’t be reached at all — no number and no email.
• Your credits ran short. The check says when your balance covers only some of the list, and the run sends to that many.

Look under It Checks With You in the panel:

• Notify Only — you're told someone is due; nothing is written unless you ask for it.
• Confirm Before Drafting — it asks you first, and writes the drafts when you say go. Every new automation starts here.
• Approve Before Sending — drafts are written and wait for your approval.

Only Send Automatically sends by itself. The asking happens on the channel under it, Telegram or WhatsApp (Run On in the editor). If that channel is not connected, the turn-on check says so, with a Connect Telegram or Connect WhatsApp button.

On WhatsApp, a step that goes as a normal message reaches anyone who has not written to you in the last 24 hours as a link you open yourself. The check counts them — you will get a link to open yourself for each one — and a Use Template step sends them your template instead, once Meta has approved it.
