Why did my automation not run?

The Short Answer
Most often the automation is still switched off, or its schedule has not come round yet. After that: an empty audience, a Groups setting pointing at no groups, a Send Custom Message with an empty box, or an On Command automation waiting for you to ask.
Work down this list. The first two cover most of it.
Is it actually on?
Open Extensions → Automations and look at which group the row is under.
Not Running Yet means it is off. Every automation arrives that way and stays there until you flip the switch — including the four PropKaki sets up for you.
Has its time come round?
The When control reads back the whole schedule — Every 5 Days · 9:00am. A 9am automation does not fire in the afternoon of the same day.
If you turned it on after today's time had passed, the first run is tomorrow.
Does its audience have anybody in it?
Check Who. An automation aimed at New Leads does nothing in a week with no new leads, and one aimed at Everyone does nothing while your book is empty.
Flip the switch off and on to reopen the check — it counts the audience live.
Is it pointing at groups you have not made?
If Who is set to Groups and you have not made any groups in Prospecting, there is nobody behind the setting.
Either make a group, or change Who to Everyone or Individuals.
Did you leave the custom message empty?
If What is Send Custom Message, the box below it must have something in it.
An automation with an empty box will not run rather than sending something generic in your name.
Is it an On Command automation?
On Command has no schedule. It runs when you ask it to and not before.
If you meant it to run on a clock, open When and pick a repeat.
It ran, so why did nobody get anything?
That is Approval working as set. On Notify Only you are told someone is due and nothing more happens. On Confirm Before Drafting it asks you first.
Check for the nudge on the channel you set under Run On — and if that channel is not connected, the drafts are still waiting for you in the app.
