Set up Auto-Reply mode

Updated 1 September 2026

The Short Answer

Pick Auto-Reply and write the message you want sent. It replies with exactly that and nothing else — it does not answer questions and does not improvise, so nothing goes out that you have not read first.

Auto-Reply is the most controlled setting. It says your words, and only your words.

How do I set it up?

  1. Pick Auto-Reply as your bot's mode.
  2. Write the message you want sent.

That message is what every client gets.

What should the message say?

Two things, briefly:

  1. That their message has arrived.
  2. What happens next — when you will reply, or how to reach you if it is urgent.

A preset reply that only says "thanks for your message" leaves the client exactly where they were.

Will it answer questions?

No. It replies with what you have preset and does not improvise, so it cannot say anything you have not read.

That is the trade: total control over the words, no help with the question.

When is this the right mode?

When you are away and want people acknowledged, or when the wording matters enough that nothing should vary — a launch, a handover, a period where you genuinely cannot reply.

If you want questions answered while you are busy, that is Advisor instead.
