Connect your WhatsApp number
Updated 4 September 2026
The Short Answer
Open Extensions then Connectors and open the WhatsApp card. Before Meta opens, PropKaki asks which number you are connecting. Pick the first option if the number already has WhatsApp on it — the second refuses that number, and Meta's own advice is to delete the account, which you should not do.
This is the connector that matters most, and the one worth reading before you start — because one choice is made before Meta's window opens, and it cannot be taken back from inside it.
How do I connect my number?
- Open Extensions → Connectors and open the WhatsApp card.
- Answer Which number are you connecting? — the next section is about that choice.
- Press Continue With Meta. It stays greyed until you have answered, on purpose.
- Sign in to Meta and pick your business portfolio.
- Follow the flow through to the end and confirm.
Meta runs the sign-in, not PropKaki, so your Facebook login never passes through us. The button says Opening Meta… while its window loads.
Which of the two options should I pick?
The number already in your WhatsApp Business app — clients keep messaging the number they already have, and you keep using WhatsApp on your phone as normal. It needs WhatsApp Business, the green app, version 2.24.17 or newer.
A different number, with no WhatsApp on it — keeps work separate from your own line, but clients have to be told the new number, and it only works inside PropKaki.
The warning that matters: a number that already has WhatsApp is refused by the second option, and Meta's own remedy on that screen is to delete the WhatsApp account. Do not delete it. Close the window and pick the first option instead.
What happens inside Meta's window?
If you picked the number already in your WhatsApp Business app: sign in to Meta and pick your business portfolio, choose Connect a WhatsApp Business App, then scan the QR code, and confirm.
If you picked a different number: sign in and pick your portfolio, choose Add a new WhatsApp number, enter the code Meta texts to it, and confirm.
Either way Meta bills the messages to your card rather than PropKaki's — about S$0.02–0.09 each, with replies within 24 hours free.
Why did I get no QR code and no text message?
A number Meta already knows is marked Registered in its list and handed straight over — no QR code, no texted code, the same either way.
So if you walked the same four screens whichever option you picked, the choice was not ignored. The row you clicked was simply a number Meta had already set up, and the step it would have taken you through was not needed.
The connection is real. Send yourself a message from another phone and watch it land in Chats.
Does my bot start answering the moment I connect?
Connecting the number and letting your bot answer on it are two separate decisions. Connecting gives PropKaki the number; it does not hand the conversation over.
Letting the bot answer is its own switch, on the line itself under My Bot — Turn On Replies, and Turn Off Replies to take it back. Until you press it, you read and reply yourself.
What connecting does give you straight away is sending: PropKaki can write to anyone who has messaged you in the last 24 hours, and their replies land in Chats. Outside that window WhatsApp only delivers approved wording — see Why do I need a template to message someone?
What should I do if it refuses?
Two refusals have their own answer rather than a retry.
If the card says connecting your own number is for licensed agents, your CEA licence is not on the account yet. Get Verified in the dialog takes you there.
If Meta refuses the number itself, that is the second option meeting a number that already has WhatsApp. Close it, reopen the card, and pick the first option.
For everything else, What do I need before I connect WhatsApp? lists what has to be in place first.
