Connect Gmail

The Short Answer
Open Extensions then Connectors and use the Gmail card. Gmail needs a 16-letter app password, not your Gmail password, and 2-Step Verification has to be on before Google will make one. Once it is saved, PropKaki sends from your address and reads replies into Chats.
Gmail is the mailbox where both halves work out of the box — Gmail's IMAP is always on, so there is nothing to switch on at Google beyond the app password.
How do I connect Gmail?
- Open Extensions → Connectors and open the Gmail card.
- In your Google Account, go to Security and turn on 2-Step Verification if it is off — app passwords need it.
- Search App passwords, name it PropKaki, and press Create.
- Copy the 16-letter code.
- Back in the card, fill in your name as clients see it, your Gmail address, and paste the code into App password.
- Press Save & Send Me a Test.
The card carries a How do I get a Gmail app password? link that opens Google's app-passwords page directly, so you do not have to go looking for it.
Why won't my Gmail password work?
The App password box wants the 16-letter code Google generates, not the password you type when you sign in to Gmail. The account password will not connect, however many times it is tried.
That code is also why 2-Step Verification has to be on first: Google only offers app passwords to accounts that have it. If App passwords does not appear when you search your Google Account, that is the step still missing.
The same 16 letters cover sending and replies. There is no second password to find, and nothing else to switch on — Gmail's IMAP is always on.
Does PropKaki read the rest of my inbox?
PropKaki looks through your inbox for mail from people in your list and keeps only that. Everything else is passed over and never stored.
That is what lets a client who emails you out of the blue land in Chats rather than sitting unread — the message does not have to be a reply to something PropKaki sent.
You can turn it off. Find client mail in your inbox sits in the Gmail card, above Save & Send Me a Test when you first connect and in the same place whenever you reopen it. Off, PropKaki picks up replies to messages it sent and nothing else.
How do I check that sending and replies are both working?
A mailbox does two jobs and each is reported on its own. Open the Gmail card and press View Status: Sending says whether the last test worked, Replies says when the mailbox was last read.
PropKaki checks for replies every 5 minutes, so one that has just arrived can take that long to appear.
Replies — Nothing yet is not a fault. It means the mailbox was read and there was nothing in it for you. The card only grows a second badge beside the green one when the receive half has something to report.
What does removing the mailbox change?
The bin in the Gmail card asks before it acts, and names what goes. Email follow-ups stop going out from your address, and replies stop coming back into your list. Messages already sent, and replies already here, stay where they are.
One consequence you cannot see from that dialog is written into it: anything set to alert you by email moves to your other channels.
If you are moving to a different mailbox rather than stopping, there is nothing to remove first — saving another provider's card switches you over, and says so before it does.
Is there a size limit on what I attach?
PropKaki does not hold back an attachment on this mailbox for being large. If you have read about a 3 MB limit, that one is Microsoft's and it applies only to an Outlook mailbox signed in with Microsoft.
Gmail's own sending limits still apply, as they do when you send from Gmail yourself.
WhatsApp is the other route worth knowing about for a big brochure: it never carries the bytes at all, so a file that is awkward by email is usually straightforward there.
