What is an automation?

The Short Answer
An automation is a sequence of messages PropKaki works through for the people you pick: each step says what to send, on which channel, and how long to wait before the next. A single message is a sequence with one step. Every automation arrives switched off, and each one checks with you as much as you set it to.
It is the follow-up you already do by hand, written down once and worked through on a schedule.
What does an automation actually do?
It goes through your people on a schedule and gets your follow-ups ready. Each automation has four parts:
- Who It Goes Through — everyone, new leads as they come in, a group, or one person.
- When It Starts — the schedule that starts each person on the sequence; for new leads, when they come in.
- The steps — each with what to send, how it goes out (WhatsApp, Email or Leave It In The App) and how long to wait before the next one.
- Approval — how much it checks with you before anything reaches a client, from Notify Only to Send Automatically.
Each person walks the sequence on their own clock, and by default a reply stops it for them.
Where do I find my automations?
Open Extensions → Automations. Along the top are four tabs — All, On, Off and Browse — and a search box. The foot of the list counts them: 5 automations · 2 running, for example.
Each row names the automation, with a line under it saying when it starts people, its shape and how it checks with you. Click a row and a panel opens beside the list with three fields — Who It Goes Through, The Sequence and It Checks With You — and two buttons, Turn It On (Turn It Off once it is on) and Edit.
Is every automation a sequence?
Yes. There is one kind of automation, and a single message is a sequence with one step. The row says which you have: One Message, or a shape such as 3 Steps Over 12 Days.
A sequence holds up to 12 steps, and each step picks its own channel, so step 1 can go out on WhatsApp and step 3 by email. Edit opens the whole sequence as a drawing: a box for who and when, one box per step with the wait between them, a box for approval, and a box for how it ends.
Does it start running the moment I make one?
No. Every automation arrives switched off — one you build with Create a New One and one you add from Browse alike — and its pill reads Draft.
When you switch it on, a check opens first: when it starts, who it goes through, what it uses in credits, where it will reach you, and how many people each channel reaches. Nothing there blocks you — press Turn On or Turn On Anyway and the pill reads Live, or Sends Itself on Send Automatically.
Change anything about a running automation later and it switches itself off, so you see that check again for what it has become.
Where do the ready-made ones come from?
The Browse tab holds 35 sequences written by PropKaki, grouped under five headings from Proven Strategies for Hot Leads to Proven Strategies for Past Clients. Each card shows its first steps, its name and one line on what it does.
Press a card and it opens in the same editor you build your own in, with every field editable. None of them picks who it goes to — you choose that — and every one starts on Confirm Before Drafting. Use This Sequence adds your copy, switched off.
How is an automation different from an alert?
An automation works through your clients and gets messages ready for them. An alert tells you when something happens — a reply lands, a lead comes in, a send fails — and expects no answer.
They reach you differently too: an alert can come to you on several channels at once, while an automation asks you on one — its Run On, so each back-and-forth stays one conversation.
