Is Rex Tan the Chief Agency Officer of Huttons?
Yes. Huttons Group announced on 19 January 2026 that Rex Tan had been appointed Chief Agency Officer, overseeing agency development and market education, EdgeProp reported the same day. Huttons' chief executive is Mark Yip.
Rex Tan has been in real estate since about 2006: EdgeProp wrote in March 2020 that he had spent 14 years in the industry, starting out knocking on doors and handing out flyers and nearly giving up in his first year. He joined Huttons as a realtor in 2010 and set up his own team there, the Rex Tan Division, EdgeProp reported in January 2026.
The division grew from about 700 agents in 2019 and 2020 (99.co and EdgeProp) to more than 800 in January 2022, according to a Huttons event page, and to 2,650 in January 2026, the figure Huttons gave when it promoted him. Along the way he held Huttons' district director titles, from Top Associate Group District Director in 2015 to Executive Group District Director by 2022, and in early 2020 became chairman of the agency's Agency Development Committee and deputy chairman of its Agency Executive Committee.
On 19 January 2026 Huttons Group named him Chief Agency Officer, in charge of agency development and the market education of agents and consumers. Chief executive Mark Yip said he would put a strong emphasis on AI adoption and digital training.
How did Rex Tan become Chief Agency Officer at Huttons?
Through 16 years at Huttons: he joined as a realtor in 2010, built the Rex Tan Division, took Huttons' top district director awards from 2015, chaired its Agency Development Committee from 2020 and became Chief Agency Officer in January 2026, according to Huttons and EdgeProp.
Rex Tan's start in the industry was slow. EdgeProp's March 2020 profile describes him knocking on doors and distributing flyers, close to quitting in his first year, until an HDB flat sale in Bedok North earned him about S$16,000 in commission. The same piece put his time in real estate at 14 years.
He joined Huttons as a realtor in 2010 and set up the Rex Tan Division there, EdgeProp reported in January 2026. A Huttons event page from January 2022 lists the agency awards he won as the division grew: Top Associate Group District Director in 2015, Top Associate Senior Group District Director from 2016 to 2019 and Top Associate Executive Group District Director in 2019 and 2020. Huttons' January 2026 release says he had won the Top Executive Group District Director award every year since 2019.
In early 2020, EdgeProp reported, he became chairman of Huttons' Agency Development Committee and deputy chairman of its Agency Executive Committee, roles that took him beyond his own team. In that interview he said he wanted to spread his team's sharing culture across the company. On 19 January 2026 Huttons Group appointed him Chief Agency Officer, to oversee agency development initiatives and lead market education for agents and consumers.

What is the Rex Tan Division?
The Rex Tan Division is the team Rex Tan set up at Huttons after joining in 2010. It had about 700 agents in 2019 and 2020, more than 800 in January 2022 and 2,650 in January 2026, according to 99.co, EdgeProp and Huttons.
The division's size has been reported at several points. 99.co called it "the 700-man strong RTD" in March 2019, and EdgeProp described a 700-member team in March 2020, when Huttons as a whole had about 3,000 agents. A Huttons event page in January 2022 said he managed more than 800 agents. In December 2023 he told 99.co the division had around 1,400 agents, 470 of whom had joined that year, and EdgeProp put it at about 1,500 as at November 2023. Huttons gave 2,650 when it promoted him in January 2026.
Some teams inside the division are named in the sources. EdgeProp wrote in September 2021 that Jeremy Lim's team "is a branch under Rex Tan", and the Fendy Lee Group's own website describes itself as part of Huttons Asia and the Rex Tan Division. 99.co reported in 2019 that Rex Tan had recruited Jeremy Lim into real estate.
No source sets out where the division sits among Huttons' other large groups. A 2022 Huttons event page names Rex Tan among the senior leaders Kevin Geow built his team with; 99.co wrote in 2021 that Mary Tan's MTD Group had recruited him, as Head of RTD and deputy of Huttons' Agency Executive Committee; and a 2025 EdgeProp article names him and Kevin Geow as pivotal to Mary Tan's career. None says that one group's agents are counted in another's, and groups at Huttons can overlap, so their sizes should not be added up.
Known as RTD. Includes Jeremy Lim's team (EdgeProp, 2021) and the Fendy Lee Group (its own website).

What is Rex Tan known for?
For building the Rex Tan Division from about 700 agents in 2019 to 2,650 in 2026, and for Huttons' top district director awards, which a Huttons event page lists from 2015 and Huttons' 2026 release says he won every year since 2019.
The awards listed for Rex Tan are Huttons' own, given for the sales of his team rather than his personal deals. In the March 2020 interview he described how his leadership had changed: he had once been strong-headed and wanted to win at everything, and now counted sincerity as his main strength. He told agents facing a weak market to double their efforts and look for opportunities, and compared nurturing a deal to caring for a plant until it bears fruit.
The division trains its own agents. EdgeProp reported in February 2024 that it had 37 trainers and two tiers of training, the second for agents who want to lead teams or train others, and an exam revision app for people preparing to become agents. 99.co described an in-house CRM, an advertising library and a portfolio-analysis tool in December 2023. "Your team will always look to you and ask, 'Are my leaders working?'" he told 99.co.

The CEA register is the public record of every licensed property salesperson in Singapore, and CEA's public transaction records list each sale and rental under the salesperson who handled it. His PropKaki agent profile shows both for R018251Z; the count is below.
31 deals on record in CEA's public transaction records, last verified 10 Oct 2026.
